FOO FIGHTERS

Bereits während der Zeit bei Nirvana schrieb Dave Grohl eigene Songs, bis auf einen Stück «Marigold» fand jedoch keines Aufnahme in das Repertoire der Band. Dass Grohl 1994 überhaupt das Bandprojekt Foo Fighters begann, hatte er wohl seinem Psychater zu verdanken, der ihm nach dem Tod von Kurt Cobain dringend empfahl mit Musik weiterzumachen. Mit den Alben “The Colour and the Shape” und “There is nothing left to loose” stellten sich 1997/1998 die ersten grossen Erfolge ein. Im Laufe der Jahre arbeitete die Band mit John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Paul McCartney und Justin Timberlake zusammen und durchlief einige personelle Veränderungen, absolvierte etliche gefeierte Tourneen. 2021 erfolgte die Aufnahme in die Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.

Am 25. März 2022 verlor die Band während der Tournee in Kolumbien den beliebten Schlagzeuger Taylor Hawkins, der über gesundheitliche Probleme klagte und nicht mehr reanimiert werden konnte. Der Verlust liess die Fans das Ende der Band befürchten. Doch im April 2023 veröffentlichten die Foo Fighters eine neue Single Rescued und kündigten damit ein neues Album But Here We Are an, welches im Juni 2023 erscheinen soll.
